London

The London Eye

So we are officially in London. It is 5 am + I couldn't sleep anymore. Unfortunately my phone still isn't working so I'm using a computer in the hostel. Last night when we got back, there was about 10 people waiting to use the computers ... Sprint you better get working!

So recap...

Flight to London was delayed but we only got in an hour + a half after we were supposed to. I watched "He's Just Not That Into You" which obviously made my night + slept blissfully. I wish. Scott + I did happen to have an extra seat, which was awesome considering there were maybe 3 empty seats on the whole plane! But of course it is still a little hard for two people to sleep comfortably on "half a twin", a very hard one at that. So we were a little jet-lagged upon arrival. We got on the tube very easily + were pleasantly surprised by our hostel, Astor Hyde Park. Small but clean + we each had a bed...can't beat that!

So we got in around 3:30 + showered. Then left at about 4 pm + took the tube to Westminster. Walked out of the station + saw The Big Ben (check) + The Houses of Parliament. Walked some more + saw 1 Downing Street (where the PM lives)...well the tiny bit we could see through the ridiculous gates + guards. Then kept going to Trafalgar Square + The National Gallery. I am suprised just how easy it is to get around London. The subway in NYC seems like a death trap compared to the tube. All you have to be able to do is read. So Scott has some trouble.

We met a nice couple with kids who are from West Palm, as they noticed Scott's gator sandals. We had our first dinner at a greasy pub by Trafalgar Square. Ew. I was trying to experience London food but sausages + fried stuff = unhappy Lauren + Scott. The wine was good though!

Next stop: London Eye. Well after looking at it we decided not worth the $30 so we went + had a beer by a little park + sat down. Then we went to have our second dinner at a little pizza place. Pizza with egg + spinach = happy Scott + Lauren. Then we got a crepe for dessert, but Scott didn't want it (boys) so we took it home + then the ice cream leaked all over his feet as we made our way home.

We are going on a tour to Stonehenge + Baths all day. London weather is super nice. A tiny bit of sunshine with lots of cool air + a little bit of rain. Definitely my style.

That is about it. Alexis please fix my phone.

  1. Lauren, this is awesome! Can't wait to hear about your trip today -- whether we need to book the same one. If you need to use Scott's phone to call or anything, please do!

  2. I've never heard of Scott becoming "full". Make sure you do not stand under the rocks at Stonehenge...they are bound to fall down sooner or later, so you don't want to press your luck
