Walking up the Eiffel Tower

Last night Scott + I enjoyed a picnic under the Eiffel Tower. We decided to go up the tower because we were super excited to tell people we climbed the whole thing. We got in a much shorter line to walk (instead of elevator) + within 10 minutes were on our climb up. And it was only 3.5 euros!
Well about 10 minutes later we get to the "2nd" floor + realize there is a new line + new tickets we must buy to get to the summit. Ha. Well at least it was only another 3.5 euros, but we were a little disappointed we couldn't climb up the whole thing. The view from the top was pretty amazing + we got lots of pictures. View from the top as the sun was setting

Afterward we got a bite to eat + headed home to sleep! When we got back to the hotel we picked up some brochures for the museums we would be seeing today + guess what?! All are closed on Mondays except the Louvre which is closed on Tuesday (today!) We were very disappointed we wouldn't see Mona + Napoleon's apartment, but decided that now we have to come back to Paris again (shux.)

This morning we woke up at 8 and brought our closes to a laundrymat!!! First experience doing that! It was about 2 minutes from our hotel, but it was a little hard to decipher since everything was in French. The wash took 50 mins, so we went back to the hotel. Scott slept more + I went back to dry the clothes. The dryer took 10 minutes each time + after the first drying round, the clothes were almost completely dried...impressive! I put it in for another 10 minutes + then we packed up our backpacks, checked out of the hotel, + left our bags to pick up later.

We had a delicious breakfast...yummy quiche(me) + egg, ham, + cheese sandwich(Scott). Right now we are waiting in line at the Musee d'orsay. Train leaves for Venice at 830pm tonight.
