Van no-go

Yesterday started off great! We went strolling + shopping in the morning + I spent lots of time going into all the cute little shops. There were so many cute antique stores. If I could ship some of the stuff home, it would be amazing. I stuck to small stuff (and perhaps useless) + got a change purse and salt + pepper shaker. We had a pancake + Scott had more pizza! We then tried to find the little paddle boats but just couldn't manage to get there. It is a lot harder to use a map in a different language.

We decided to head down to the museum area. We walked past the "I AMsterdam" sign + took some fabulous pictures. It was so pretty + nice and cool outside. We then went to the Van Gogh museum but it was closed + then it started to pour + the wind was ridiculous. By then it was late enough + far enough away from our hostel (we had walked for hours + hours that day to begin with) that we took a cab back to the boat. We had another pancake + went to bed!

Right now we are on our way to Brussels. As we were waiting for the train we realized we needed to get our Eurail passes validated. We had about 4 minutes til the train arrived. We figured out where the service center was + saw the line (long). I asked a woman who worked there + she went right ahead + brought us to a different counter + stamped our passes for us! Sooo nice! And as luck had it, our train was 15 minutes late so we got there with a couple minutes to spare.

We have a bike tour of the city at 3 pm (for 4 hrs), then will get dinner + tommorow is Paris for 3 days.

Super excited for Manekin Pis.
