Ao nang

After 11 hours of traveling + sleepless night, we have finally arrived in a blissfully clean + air conditioned hotel on a beach called Ao Nang outside of Krabi. It even has a real toilet, by far the nicest one we have had all trip, + a very large shower with a high pressured rainfall nozzle. We are back to reality. The view from the hotel restaurant

We took a tuk tuk taxi from Haad Rin to the pier(30 minutes), waited a half hour, then took a ferry to Surat Thani (2 hours), then a bus to inside Surat Thani (1 hour), a tuk tuk taxi to some random tourism shop ( 5 minutes), waited an hour, took a tuk tuk taxi to another bus (5 minutes), took that bus to Krabi (3 + 1/2 hours), + finally took a tuk tuk taxi to Ao Nang (40 minutes).

Keep in mind we had been awake until 730 am, when we napped on the ferry for an hour or so. We also slept for about an hour on the bus to Krabi.

When we got into Ao Nang, we had already picked out the prettiest place we could find + went straight there. We didn't want to make any rash decisions, so we checked out 3 or 4 other places to verify we couldn't get anything better. We figured we were already so dirty + disgusting that spending another 30 minutes with our backpacks on + sweating would be worth finding the most wonderful place possible. It was well worth it.

After we put our stuff in the room, we dropped some really gross laundry off to be cleaned + went for some food. We got a pineapple shake, yellow curry with veggies + steamed rice, + pad thai with veggies. I'm really going to miss the food here. It is so much lighter than the States. Next up was some mango with sticky rice, which was the best we have had yet, and then it was time to shower + get in bed (finally!)
This is heaven!

So it is 730 pm + we are about ready for bed. Meanwhile, there is a full moon party in full rage in Haad Rin + we are so happy to be showered, fed, + in clean beds. This is definitely more our style.
