Spa-hopping

After 14 hours of sleep in our gorgeous, ocean-side, air-conditioned hotel, Marissa + I woke up recharged at 10am.

We immediately went for breakfast, as this was the longest amount of time we had been without food. We got poached eggs + wheat bread (haven't had that in a while) + a plate of fruit (pineapple, watermelon, cantelope, + banana).

A pretty common sight, "I'll meet you at 9pm"

We walked around looking for the perfect massage place, stopped for a mango smoothie (we were still hungry) + then decided on a pedicure. We were super anal about our feet + cutting instruments, so we totally didn't want anything that would scrape off our feet. We found a place that did pretty basic polish change/toenail shaping + went in for the kill. As we were waiting for our pedicures, we were discussing pedicures in the states. I said I hate putting my feet in the buckets + marissa goes "buckets eww" + I'm like "no no the thing at the end of the chair." 2 seconds later, out come 2 buckets.

After our pedicure, we decided on a different place we had seen earlier for massages. We really liked the place + couldn't wait for our massages. Then, a ladyboy came out. Since we liked the place + Marissa was willing to let her/him touch her feet, we switched to foot massages. Don't worry I got lots of pictures of the ladyboy massaging her feet. I had a real woman.

After an hour of foot heaven, we left in quest of a massage place. Within a couple minutes (these places are everywhere), we found the perfect non-ladyboy massage place. We opted for the hot oil massages + were pleasantly upgraded to the addition of an aloe vera massage, after the women saw our burnt backs. Heaven.

After that hour of relaxation + the previous 2, we were starving! We had seen an Indian restaurant across the street from our hotel + decided to try it out since Marissa will be in India in 24 hours + I love Indian food.

We had some onion naan bread, a vegetable dish, and potato + veggie curry. Yum. It was delish.

Last Thai meal

Next up was some beach time. Luckily Marissa + I are similar in that we both have ADD + pale, easily burnt skin...so that lasted about 15 minutes. We would have lasted longer if the ocean wasn't so rocky or if kayaks were available. We simply can't sit still.

Since it was our last night in Thailand (sooo sad), we decided to split a bottle of wine + enjoy a romantic dinner overlooking the ocean. We had green curry with veggies (wayyy too spicy), pad thai with veggies, + stir fried veggies with steamed rice. We have decided our breakfast tomorrow, our last meal in thailand, has got to be thai food, since we have no idea when we will be back + thai food is just not the same in the states. I know, we started the trip not believing people eat that as breakfast!

Well after dinner, we decided to check out the nightlife of ao nang beach. Ya not too crazy. We had a beer each at 2 different bars + both bars were pretty tame. We were falling asleep half-way through beer two, so decided to go hit the hay.

Like any foodie, I insisted we stop at the only open restaurant on the short walk home. Unfortunately only pizza was being served. Fortunately, both Marissa + I love pizza. Since it has been almost 2 wks since eating pizza every day for 1 wk in Italy, I was game.

After pizza, we walked 5 steps home + got ready for our last night's sleep in Thailand. I can't believe how fast my trip is flying by + how much energy I still have. This is the life. Can't wait to see you guys (Laura + Lindsay) in Australia!!!!
